Our Programs

Broken Pieces Program

The Broken Pieces Program provides compassionate support and restoration services for individuals affected by emotional and physical abuse with co-occurring drug use disorders. This voluntary program recruits and trains volunteers to offer temporary support groups, emotional encouragement, and assistance with cleaning and organizing participants' homes after a slip in drug use. By fostering connection, restoring safe environments, and promoting education, the Broken Pieces Program aims to empower individuals to continue their recovery journey. Participants rebuild resilience through sharing struggles and successes in a judgement-free space. With restored sanctuary within their homes, they can rediscover stability, hope and healing

MINT (Man in the Mirror)

The Man In The Mirror (MINT) program provides men an empowering opportunity to redefine masculinity and cultivate respect—both for themselves and others. Through confidential small group discussions guided by skilled facilitators, men are encouraged to embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. At MINT, harmful notions of toxic masculinity are addressed head-on. Participants learn about the impacts of suppressing emotions, anger issues, and unhealthy coping mechanisms often ingrained in traditional masculine norms. MINT offers a judgement-free environment for men to safely process these topics and develop increased self-awareness. Interactive exercises help men expand their emotional vocabulary and embrace authentic self-expression. By overcoming harmful stereotypes, they grow more comfortable with vulnerability and practicing open communication. MINT groups explore constructive ways for men to manage anger, as well as build trust and intimacy in relationships. Developing empathy and compassion for diverse experiences is a core focus of the curriculum. Men gain allyship skills to intervene against discrimination when they witness misconduct or harassment. Role-playing helps prepare them to speak up against sexist remarks and problematic behaviors. MINT also focuses on strengthening relationships and prioritizing self-care for improved work-life balance. Participants learn how embracing complexity and celebrating progress made so far can boost self-confidence and fulfillment. Ongoing peer support through online forums fosters continued learning and accountability outside of sessions. By taking this introspective journey, men gain tools to champion respect, inclusivity, and equality in their relationships and communities. They become better equipped to lead by example, positively influencing younger generations. While rediscovering masculinity on their own terms, participants improve emotional health, achieve growth, and develop sustaining support systems. The MINT program creates lasting impacts by guiding men to redefine manhood in alignment with their values. If you feel ready to connect with other men seeking similar growth, join us by signing up today. Together, we can cultivate healthier attitudes and behaviors that benefit everyone.

Wayward Youths'

The Wayward Youth program will provide mentorship, guidance, positive role modeling, trauma informed psychoeducation, empowerment training and employment opportunity awareness to adolescents aged 13-18.  The youths have a computer lab where they can learn about toxic environments and advocacy agencies that may help them. The lab will also provide opportunities to learn about higher education choices or other quality of life-changing options (i.e., College, Trade School, Military) that may best suit their needs. A STEM program is in place for those who wish to pursue interests in the Science and Mathematics fields. We provide a creative writing lab to help children learn to express themselves in a fantastical, safe way. Psychological Tests such as the MAPP (Motivational Appraisal Personal Potential) may be conducted and explained to the youths. What We Hope to Achieve i. Positive role modeling experiences demonstrate quality values like integrity, honesty, temperance, fortitude, and many others. ii. Support for affordable housing/temporary shelter to be provided to the youths. iii. Awareness of their situations and the understanding of the detrimental impact the toxic environment they are living in is causing themselves. iv. A safe, judgement free place where youths can express themselves and learn to become who they are meant to be. v.      A significant decrease in criminal or mischievous activities by working with the youths and making them feel understood and providing alternative living approaches that are adapted by the youth to live a healthier positive lifestyle. vi.    Promote and develop an interest in their self and career choice, help expand their knowledge of their positive attributes. How We Hope To Achieve i. The importance of sharing and learning from each other in social situations is vital to proper psychological development.  Our activities include learning forums, support groups and like-minded individuals sharing thoughts with each other in a judgement free environment, learning how to absorb constructive criticism and how to take in others’ perspectives. ii.     Using Compassion and concern at every step of the process, fostering an individual to grow unperturbed, using evidence-based learning techniques as well as active imagination exercises to endorse creativity. iii.    Teaching to apply holistic wellness techniques (Reiki, guided meditation, yoga, art healing, etc.)  offers a magnitude of emotional (e.g. anxiety relief, depression relief, lower rates of impulsivity) and physical (e.g. weight regulation, better joint flexibility, increased blood flow) benefits. Allowing oneself the openness to try new things fosters passions that may be suppressed by the circumstances or mental state of the here and now.

Toxicity 101

Identifying a toxic environment can be challenging, but some warning signs include feeling consistently stressed, disrespected, or drained after spending time in a particular situation or with specific people. If you feel like your self-esteem or mental health is being negatively impacted, it may be a sign that you are in a toxic environment. It's important to recognize that toxic environments can include various forms of abuse, such as physical and emotional abuse. Physical abuse involves any use of force that causes harm or injury, such as hitting, slapping, or kicking. Emotional abuse, on the other hand, can be harder to identify, but it involves any behavior that harms an individual's emotional well-being, such as belittling, insulting, or manipulating them. To escape or cope with a toxic environment, it is important to prioritize self-care and to seek support from friends, family, or mental health professionals. Developing an action plan and setting boundaries can also help. It's also crucial to come to realize and appreciate the love you have for yourself. This can involve engaging in activities that bring you joy, practicing self-compassion, and surrounding yourself with positive and supportive people. If you are experiencing physical or emotional abuse, it's essential to seek help from a professional as soon as possible. You can reach out to a therapist, counselor, or domestic violence hotline for support. Remember, you deserve to be treated with respect and to live in a healthy and supportive environment. With the right tools and resources, you can overcome a toxic environment and create a fulfilling and joyful life for yourself.

Hope in a Hole

Supporting individuals in institutions such as prisons, hospitals, or rehabilitation centers with psychoeducation and resources on toxic home environments and addiction can make a significant impact in breaking the cycle of abuse and addiction. These individuals may have faced a lifetime of challenges and trauma, and providing them with the tools and resources to understand and address the root causes of their experiences is critical. With the right support, these individuals can gain the confidence and skills necessary to overcome their challenges and lead healthier, happier lives. This may involve providing access to therapy, support groups, and educational programs that teach healthy communication, coping skills, and self-care strategies. By investing in these resources, we can help individuals build the resilience and emotional fortitude necessary to create positive change in their lives. Creating a safe and supportive environment is equally crucial for promoting positive change and helping individuals break free from the grip of abuse and addiction. When individuals feel heard, valued, and safe, they can begin to trust and believe in their ability to change and build a brighter future for themselves. With the right support and resources, individuals in institutions can learn to recognize the root causes of their experiences, build resilience, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. By empowering them with the knowledge and tools they need, we can help them break free from the cycles of abuse and addiction, and build the fulfilling lives they deserve.
